Martha-Marie "Marty" Sivaslian Barrett, 94, of Columbus, Ohio, died on Wednesday, March 11, 2015 at her residence.

She was born August 6, 1920 in Coshocton, Ohio, to the late Edward A. and Charlotte R. Adams Sivaslian.
Marty graduated from Ohio State University in 1942 where she received a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration degree.
She was a member of Delta Delta Delta sorority where she held the post of secretary.
She was also a member of Pen & Brush, Mirrors, and Links at Ohio State.

After her graduation, she married the father of her three daughters, David Lee Barrett of Chillicothe, Ohio. (Ross County)
Marty taught at Chillicothe High School for many years after additionally earning her education degree from Ohio University, Athens, Ohio.

Upon retiring from Chillicothe High School in 1985, she moved to Columbus, Ohio in 1990 where she volunteered at Ronald McDonald House for 10 years and then served as an exhibition and architectural tour guide for many years at The Wexner Center for the Arts, one of the highlights of her tenure there was meeting the artist Roy Lichtenstein.
Marty was a member of Overbrook Presbyterian Church in Columbus, Ohio.
Marty loved the beach.
Her daughters are Susan S. Wisecup, of Chillicothe, Ohio and her son, Dodd E. Wisecup; Betsey Barrett West, of Overland Park, KS and her children Jonathan D. West of St. Louis and Katherine Anne West of Overland Park, KS; and Martha J. Barrett, of Kansas City, MO.

In keeping with her wishes, there will be no funeral service, the family will celebrate her life in a private prayer service.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to The Wexner Center for the Arts (Columbus, OH) where she spent many happy hours, or to The American Red Cross in Chillicothe, Ohio. Arrangements are under the direction of the WARE FUNERAL HOME.
