Mrs. Catherine Sipe, who had passed the eightieth year of her age, died sometime Wednesday at the home of her son-in-law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Jacob Eschrick, who live between Stoystown and Mostoller. She had been ill for some time and he death was not unexpected. Mrs. Sipe’s maiden name was Wilt and she was born in Lambertsville. Her husband (Michael) died near Buckstown about twenty-one years ago. She was the mother of eleven children, the following surviving: Isaiah, John, Mahlon, and Chauncey, of Johnstown; Jonas of Mostoller; Mrs. Ella Heinemyer, of Garrett; Mrs. Mary Johnson, of Pittsburgh; Mrs. Austin Stoy, of Stoystown, and the Mrs. Eschrick referred to above. Mrs. Sipe was a member of the Evangelical Church.
