My father had a brother named Ernest born Newcastle upon tyne in 1899. I am afraid I do not have very much information on Ernest but some on the family.

Looking for information on my father Ernest Kenneth Sinton born in Newcastle, England Feb. 27, approx. 1910. I have no information on any of his family members and all I know is that he had a sister who had a daughter. He arrived in the USA in the early to mid 30"s.

Hi,
Not a very active board this, but I've not found any other SINTON message areas.
Would your Ernest Kenneth SINTON possibly have had a father named Ernest with a twin sister Edith?
Theres a family in the 1881 census which I believe to be John Ingo SINTON and Mary Elizabeth MAULE (children Eleanor, Dinah, John, Ernest and Edith born at various Northumberland places.
This Ernest would be born around Dec 1880.
His brother John could possibly be the John Ingo SINTON that married Mary WILSON in 1900.

Has your research progressed beyond your August 2000 posting to confirm any of this?

I'm interested in all SINTONs, but primarily those slightly further north of the Scottish Border.

Regards,

Lorna

I'm sorry I can't give you a huge amount of info about the Sinton's that lived in Newcastle, what I can tell you is that my Grandfather (whom I never met) was born in that region. There appears to be some form of silly family family arguement that surrounds them for what ever reason. Basically my father had an Aunt whom lived in Florida, whom he lost track of.

I have however determined a short methodology for spotting a Sinton. It is probably silly, I however have observed this... every Sinton blood male has the "Sinton" hair line issue...

You hide it well Dave http://www.xpressweb.com/~talon/0414_007.jpeg
the cap doesn't hide it.

I'll try and get some more data out of my father you guys want it

Upon further research I find that I am related to John Ingo Sinton (b) 1813 Newcastle (d) 1854 Newcastle. Seem to be the other side of Ernest Sinton family. John Ingo Jnr (b) 1850's was my ggrandfather's, George, brother. He had four boys, George, Frederick, James & John. James being my grandfather.
Do you have any relevent information.
Sue Sheridan nee Sinton

Audrey,
Long time since you posted, but recent activity on this thread made me revisit what I have.

There's an 18 yr old Ernest SINTON, of St ?(Romans Hse, Sanchyford)? Rd, Newcastle T, sugar boiler, sailing from Liverpool to New York on the "Adriatic", 3 May 1930.
Is this your Ernest?

Regards,
Lorna
