Does anyone know this lady? Temperance Singleton (B:abt 1820 in TN) (D:1864 in Alexander County. IL). Married Sterling Smith abt. 1838. She is listed as "Tempy" in the 1850 census and Temperance in the 1860 census.Both times she is in Stoddard County, MO with husband, Sterling and their children. In 1850 the household of William Singleton and Malinda Singleton are close by. In 1880, her son, William Smith, is in New Madrid County, MO and has a William Singleton, age 20, living with him.
