I would be glad to send via E-mail to anyone who is interested, information about Prince Henry Sinclair who sailed from Scotland to Nova Scotia, Canada and Massachusetts and Rhode Island in the United States from 1398 to 1399. Lord of Rosslyn and Jarl (Earl) of the Orkney Islands off the northeastern coast of Scotland, Prince Henry sailed in ten ships with 300 men and his Italian navigator Sir Antonio Zeno of Venice on this historic voyage. In 1453 Prince Henry's grandson, William Sinclair, built Rosslyn Chapel, six miles south of Edinburgh. This chapel contains carvings of plants Prince Henry discovered in North America. Another gradson of Prince Henry met Christopher Columbus on the Island of Madeira in the Atlantic Ocean and told Columbus about his grandfather's voyage.
Sincerely,
Susan M. Grady
