Do I read your message right when you say Silah as a widow remarried into the Simmons line. As I hope it not based on Silas will.

I belive the George in the will was a grandson with his father James wed to one of Silas daughters. Thus he too young at this time to have a spouse and children.

As for Son-in-law Joshua, I think he the spouse of Hester and at this time they have children but all girls, so since George only blood male kin to Silas as his Grandson he gets all when he's of age. Joshua is possibly the older of the Nettles family and thus given the Executor the younger James.

Also have seen actual hand written wills where letters s l f written almost the same. Also the ss in words was often written in a style where it looked like fs but think the first f was more like symbol for British Pound sort of an l with slight curve at tips. ~ almost like the symbol to left but printed vertical not as is...Wayne
