I've seen this will on Silas Simmons dated 1795 but came on it looking for a link to my Harrell line since Silas and Selah are both named in the will of Jacob Harrell dated 1787.
Let me try and explain this as it had at first confused me as to how the later will 1795 got Nettles on it when in 1787 Selah was listed among Jacob Children as Selah Simmons and the same when she witnessed the will of Jacob in 1787..
Selah was then wed to Silas Simmons as he was named as one of Jacob's choice as executor to the 1787 will. Also in the will was an Ann Simmons that had up to some time ago considered another daugther to Jacob but have since learned she was Selah and Silas Simmons daughter as was the Ann Simmons who was wed the James Nettles father of George Nettle in the 1795 will. Seems Joseph Neetles, SR had two sons by a first wife these being Joseph, Jr (note some say name Joseph or Joshua as 1795 says Joshua) and James thus Selah was left the widowed step-mon of these two. As Hester Simmons was later born to Selah and Silas Simons and would wed the Joseph Nettles named as son-in law in 1795 as he was a Jr to his dad who is said to have died just after he wed Selah thus she had the two minor step-sons when she wed again to Silas Simmons...
This is hard to follow and I hope I covered it right as I think folks trying to put Selah wed to Silas first then to Joseph and this is not the case as she wed Joseph first and became step mom to his sons James and Joseph, Jr then went on to wed Silas and have Ann then Heaster... Ann would wed James son of Joseph SR and they would have George.. Hester would wed Joseph Jr and by 1795 had no kids...
