OH WOW! This is so exciting for me! Charles would be my grandfathers brother/my uncle. I never got know. Marilyn (Silver) Whitcomb daughter of Edward M. Silver( brother is Charles) is still living at this moment in Buffalo, NY. My mother was Sally Silver. Is there any chance I could get some photos? We have 2 of Edward and none of Charles and Edward together. Or any info. about him and what he did for a living, wife, children. A photo of the grave would be good also to have, location, plot.. The story of Edward is a sad one. I will try to make it short. Edward was from Canada, married, had two children, was not around much to support family, Mother went out in snow storm came back and died. Some say from a broken heart. Leaving two little girls orphaned, age 10?Sally and 8 ?Marilyn. Family and others only wanted Marilyn the little one. Hearing of this Grandmother and Grandfather did not want to have them split up, so they cared for them .August and Mini Raths late in there years. Girls remember seeing Edward a few times when he came thru town. Some Family was mean to him, filled the girls heads with bad info. We now think maybe he stayed away because he had TB. know one really knows. Charles carried a will listing Sally and Marilyn as Beneficiary's. Charles gave the girls $1000.00 - 500.00 each, the girls then gave $300 each to Grandma and Grandpa for helping raise them, It's not like they were young and working, they were in there 60's ?when they took the girls in. I heard Charles owed a junk yard or car lot. He must have been a really good brother to take care of the girls and his younger brother. See any info you may have, good or bad, with a emphasis of urgency will be so helpful for Marilyn for she is dying of Cancer. She along with my mom have a lot of missing pieces to thier family puzzle, I would like her to know who her dad was to others.
