I am a great grandson of Godfrey Sichel who was a businessman and legislator, who died in 1904 as someone has already mentioned.. Godfrey had 3 sons - Alan, Gerald, and Arthur and several daughters including Laura, Mabel and cannot remember the other names off hand. The daughters ended up marrying Stuart Findlay, Beck, Trill and others. His son Alan (my grandfather), who became surgeon (opthamologist) to the Royal Family and had the unique distinction of being President of the British Medical Association (BMA) and the South African Medical Association (SAMA) at the same time. Alan had children, Aileen, Neil (died at 1), Annette (my mother) and Peter. Gerald had a daughter but moved to England working on the London Underground. Arthur had Donald and Rosemary who were medical specialists. The Sichel males in South Africa (and some of the women0 have Stuart as middle names (House of Stuart) I gather. I have a letter from Laura Sichel dated 6 December 1951) addressed to my Mother Annette saying she could not be a my Mothers wedding that same month. Richard Drummond
