JOSE AGATON rescued in Manila
Sunday, September 13, 1998 (Manila Bulletin) - Jose Agaton Siba, 50 was rescuredat about 11am in a raid in a house on Sagumay St., Manuela Subd., where he had been helf for four days. The kidnappers initially demanded P30 million and the Sibal family refused. They reduced this to 15 million and the family offered P6.3 million.
The Sibal family gave all the support it could to PAOCTF. Without paying any ransom, the victim, who is the owner of Alemar's Bookstore, was safely rescued while ten (10) suspects were apprehended during the simultaneous lightning raids conducted.
Marissa me and my family and relatives we first heard about the news from the Lugtu family, my grandma's side of the family, they called my dad up on the phone and told us the details because they got a call from the Philippines the same day of the kidnapping, it was the Sibals and Lugtu family from the Phillipines that called my grandma (she's from the Lugtu family) in the U.S. A.! My dad was so worried and sad and trying not to cry in front of all of us. My dad use to work at Alemar's when he was a kid. There are more details about it but I don't want to ask my dad and grandma because they get sad but maybe i'll ask someone else someday.
Those details that i gave you game from the newspaper and i will give you the home pages of it as soon as i get a chance to get on the internet. There are more detailed articles in the newspaper but i have to look for it again and let you know about it.
