George Davis Sias, was born in Vivian Township, Waseca Co. Minnesota, on July 26, 1858. He passed away July 6, 1941, at the age of 82 years, 11 months, and 7 days. Mr. Sias came to Kansas with his parents, Mr. and Mrs. Montraville Sias, in the spring of 1876, at the age of 20 years. After locating here, he entered the grocery business for a number of years in Solomon. In 1880 * he married Miss Ada Smith of this city and they located in the Pacific Northwest; returning to Solomon in 1911. To this union two children were born. His wife and son preceded in the death, and he leaves a daughter, Mrs Edith McDonald, of Cloverdale, British Columbia, several nieces and nephews, and one brother, J.B. Sias, of Higgins, Texas to mourn his death. He was the oldest brother of the late F.B. Sias, of Solomon. Graveside services were held on Wednesday at 4:00 o'clock p.m. at the Prairie Mound Cemetery. Pallbearers were: Charles Cramer, Newman Hall, William Butcher, Charles Srack and two nephews, Paul R. Sias, and Pearl Snook, of Gypsum. Rev. J C. Everett of the Solomon Presbyterian Church officiated. -
