Searching for Shparago or Shparado

I am searching for my great grandmother's family. Her name was Lizzie (Ida) Shparago sometimes spelled Shprago. She may have been from Belarus of the Ukraine. She married my great grandfather Charles Redman (Originally the family name was Nedekolin.) He and his 9 siblings were all from Ladizinka in the Ukraine and came to the US between 1880's and early 1900's. I have been unable to find the surname in any reference. Lizzie died before my grandmother was 16 yrs. old and of course before my mother was born. But she apparently was the only Sephardic link in our European Ukrainian Jewish family. I have a relative who is the daughter of Shparago cousins and we have accounted for her family back to her grandfather, but we do not know exactly how he was related to my great grandmother. Little is known about how they came to be in the Ukraine. It has been suggested by a Sephardic geneologist that the name may have been entirely different before they came to the Ukraine and that the name Shparago is derived from the word Shparado which simply means "the Sephardic." That would explain the scarcity of the surname. I have looked under all possible phoenetic spellings without results. Would welcome any information or even suggestions. My email is didado@mindspring.com.
