My mother was adopted in montgomery county va and her adopted parents have passed . I never new my mother's real parents. I need your help please to find any info. I know my mother mentioned a brother and sister possibly. Please help. Thank you!

I finally figured out my Shivley/Scheiffle Ancestry and wanted to share and connect with others that might be working these lines. I descend from Christian Shivley and his wife, Hannah or Cristina, name uncertain, through their son Philip Shivley. My DNA testing has connected with the DNA of a descendent of the Pendleton Co. KY Shivley's. The common ancestor appears to be John Shivley of Pendleton Co., KY (b. 21 Nov 1753 ). His son Daniel Shiveley (b. about 1782) moved to Adams Co. OH in early 1800's. His wife Mary was born about 1790 in KY, and his first son James was born in Adams Co., OH in 1811.

My great-grandfather was John Henry Shively born in Kentucky 29 July 1832. He married Sarah Magdaline Rice. They moved to Kansas in 1882.

They had nine children: Mary Margaret, Sarah Elizabeth, John M, Josephine, Susan A, James Robert, Julie Mae, William David, and Henry A.

Sarah Elizabeth was born 16 May 1861. John M was born 6 Nov 1863.

John Boston Shively, Jr was the father of John Henry.

Emma Zilla Shivley Hemry Koso was my gggrandmother (b. abt. 1859, IN, d. 1937, CO). While checking Pueblo, CO, obituaries on the Internet, I found Amos Shivley - passed away July 13, 1932. Are you related to either of these people?

I just found this post.Are you still interested in info??? I'm one of Leonard Haugh's sons.You missed one of the brothers--Harry.Also there were three half brothers from a second marrage to a Norris. They were Roy,Harold,and Raymond Norris.My grandmothers name was Matilda. She was married to Joseph Haugh. Next was Norris( I never knew his first name). Then Arthur Coulter.No childern with the last.
James Haugh,,living in Natrona Heights,Pa. might be able to fill in a lot more.

Could you be related to a Jacob Banta Shively born December 25, 1797 in Shelby Co., Kentucky. Married a Anna Mavity born December 15, 1799 in Shelby Co., Kentucky on February 5, 1817. Jacob's father was Henry Shively and mother was Mary Banta. Henry was born June 1760 in Germany, married 1783, died June 14, 1842. Mary Banta born in March 31, 1767, died December 16, 1844.

In Ferum, Va. they spell it Shively. Only a couple spell the name Shivley. Moving from Illinois we found the whole clan here. Some are in Kentucky also. Following this tree, there are Generals from the Civil War related to this family. A person in Illinois has the tree back to the Green family.

I am searching for William Love. This william was born in North Carolina abt. 1819. On a census report both of his parents (Unknown) were also born in North Carolina.
The oldest child I have listed for this William Love is Lidia/Lydia Love who was born
Dec 02, 1863, in Indiana. At the time of Lidia's birth William Love would have been 44 years old and living in Indiana. Lidia's mother and William Love's wife was Susan/Susanah Shivley 1)Speer 2)Love. William and Susanah were married on February 26, 1863. Susanah Shivley was born in Orange County, Indiana on October 24, 1833. She died on November 23, 1869. Other children I have listed for the six year marriage of William Love and Susanah Shively Speer are Fanie C Love b. 1868 and possibly Thomas Love b. abt. 1867.
William also married Margaret Matherly 1)Patton who was born in North Carolina. Their marriage took place in Orange County. Indiana. There were several children also born to William and Margaret Matherly Patton Love. William Love died in 1901.
Because William was 44 at his marriage to Susanah Shivley it is very possible that he was married previously. I do not know when he left North Carolina only that he was in Indiana by 1863 for the birth of dau. Lidia. His family may have came to Indiana via West Virginia or Tennessee. If you have a William Love in your research between 1819 and 1863 who might be the William I am looking for please respond. Thanks for any and all help. I will also share any info I have if you need it.
