Seeking information about Joseph Shirk. I show him born Aug-17-1819 at PA. Other sources indicate birth was 1820 at LaMotte Twp., Crawford, IL. Don't know which is correct.

I do know that Joseph married Margaret Jane Linton in about 1841 (daughter of Lawson Linton and Sarah Ensworth). Joseph and Margaret had the following children:
Mary Ellen Shirk (1842-1845)
David Lawson Shirk (1844)
Emma Jane Shirk (1847)
Sarah Olive Shirk (1849), married James VanderBogart
Joseph Nelson Shirk (1852)
William Henry Shirk (1853)

Joseph married (2nd) Mary Ann Brown. They had the following children:
Andrew Shirk (1858)
Albert Shirk (1860)
Alice Shirk (1862)
Isabel Shirk (1864)

I will be interested in any information about any of Joseph's children, save Sarah (I have plenty about her; she was my great-great grandmother).
