I was wondering if your "Max Scheiner" could be "Meshulem Scheiner" who came from Solotwina and arrived in 1913. He listed his nearest relative in country of origin as his father Leib Scheiner. I believe Meshulem is a relative of mine and I can elaborate on the connection if this could be your Max.
