Cindy,
Did you see the record for Francis Atlee in my database? I have the following in the notes:
"Francis' parents were Der Yee Pitt Atlee and Idel Blackburn. They appear in the 1930 census in Houston as Debbyee P. Atlee and Ideele Atlee."
The names seem mangled but should give you enough info to trace them backwards. Francis' Texas Death Certificate gives her parents as D. P. Atlee and Idelle Blackburn. The 1910 census has them as DeRyce P. and Idelle Atlee and they are living with her parents, John F. and Fannie Blackburn and were married for three years and his father was born in TN and mother in TX.
Here is his death record:

I Can't find a death record for B. G Atlee but he is buried with Amanda in Mission Burial Park South in San Antonio. (1848-1933). He is listed as Dr. B.G. Atlee Sr.. His son, Dr. Benhart Gilbert Atlee, Jr. (1881-1906) is found buried in DeLeon cemetery in Comanche co., TX. It says he died in Mexico and perhaps the same may be true for his father which is why there is no Death Record in Texas.
Find them beyond that is going to take some work. There is a Gilbert Atlee (21) and wife Nora in Athens, TN in 1870 next door to what appears to be his mother, Delilah Atlee. In 1880, the E. A. Atlee (32, TN) in Loredo, TX has a 6 month old son named Gilbert.
What really nails it is the 1860 census in Athens, TN:
Edwin A. Atlee, 56, PA, Master Saddler
Delilah Atlee, 56, PA
Letitia Atlee, 18, TN
Mary Atlee, 16, TN
Edwin Atlee, 12, TN
Bernhart Atlee, 10, TN
Bernhart Gilbert Atlee Sr, 74, PA
Susannah Atlee, 74, PA
This would suggest the E.A. Atlee in Laredo is Bernhart's brother. It also include his grandfather who he is named after and his grandmother.
The 1930 census has the following:
Precinct 8, Bee, Texas, United States
Household Role Gender Age Birthplace
Bernard G Atlee Head M 81 Tennessee
Amanda E Atlee Wife F 45 Texas
That shows Amanda was not his first wife so that must have been the Nora shown in the earlier census.
And with this knowledge we can now find his death record:
Name: Benhardt Gilbert Atlee
Titles and Terms:
Event Type: Death
Event Date: 16 Jan 1933
Event Place: Bee, Texas
Gender:
Marital Status:
Certificate Number: 171

This should give you a good start to pushing them back a few more generations. If you want more help, you know where to find me!
