I am researching family history for a friend. Her father came to Australia in 1931 aged just 7years old. She is trying to find some relatives of Basil Charles Slaughter, Basil's father was Charles Orby Shipley, his mother (on the birth as Williams) had a affair with him and he was shipped out to Australia. Charles Orby Shipley was born apprently in India in 1867 and married Katherine Jane Carew in Cheltenham Mar 1890 (freebmd webssite). But my friend says she was known as Katherine Carew Ballinamona Waterford.My friend is trying to find the grandson of Charles Orby, Anthony Shipley born in 1930. Anthony was a captain in the Royal Artillery Hong Kong in 1956 when his father Conway William Carew Shipley died.
