My husband, descendant of Isham and Barbara Boney Sheffield of Duplin Co., NC, has signed up for the DNA study. It requires only a cheek swap, not a drawing of blood. The cost is not prohibitive at about $100, especially when you consider how much we invest in record copies and microfilm rental! Would like to see more NC and GA Sheffields participate. You need to be a male with surname of Sheffield/Shuffield as we look at the DNA passed from father to son, not mother to son. DNA studies are a supplement to our traditional research and will help us analyze what connections we speculate upon from other information.
