Looking for information on William & Catherine (Kate) Shea who are my gggrandparents. They are on the 1870 U.S. census for Northampton, MA (along with children John (6) & Patrick (5). Found document for William (Naturalization?), no other info except that he was from Co. Tipperary, Ireland. Found church record for John's baptism (St. Patrick's church - Endfield, CT (not far from MA border and Northampton)
Was wondering if they went to Northampton because of family or friends (there was a big Shea population from 1860 to 1880) there. The next time I see the family, is on the 1881 Census for Prince Edward Island, Canada. Hope someone out there has some info!
