I do not have much information, but here it is.
My maternal grandfather's name was Thomas Shasteen.
My maternal grandmother's name was Lucinda Robinson.
I believe that they were both born in Arkansas, Greene County-in or near Paragould, Ar.
As the story goes my maternal great-grandfather went to Arkansas from the Dakotas. He was a full Indian; he shot a white man and had to leave the Dakotas. However, I do not know my great-grandfather's name; nor do I know my great-grandmother's maiden name.
My mother's name was Pearl Shasteen . Her older siblings were Will (born 1894) then Lark, Elsie , Jase, Vera, Orvil,
Virgie, and younger siblings, TAA. (believed to stand for Thomas Albert), and Kenneth. My mother married Chester Smith of Paragould,Ar.
