My family originated in Cannada and New York State. They migrated to MN and later Montana as well. The spelling has mostly changed to Sharbono and sometimes Sharbino. Joseph Charbonneau was my great grandfather...first ancestry begins in France with Oliver Charbonneu.

It is very likely that we may be related. I have 2 Louis Charbonneaus in my family and one did return to Canada. What year was Louis/Lewis Charbonneau born? Was his father Joseph Charbonneau? My Louis Charbonneau was my great granduncle and was born about 1834.
I have the Charbonneau/Sharbono family tree back to about 1590 if you are interested.
