Hi Donna
thx very much for writing to me. My brother had heard that
the SFER name was Hungarian and that was from a SFER family in
NJ that he found a tel# of online. My brother is dark complected
and when he tans he gets very dark...hungarian? The people he called
in NJ were aged and gave him just a bit of info on the phone before they
hung up and said 'dont call back...'.
That was strange. But they said the name SFER was Hungarian and they claimed
they knew Richard Sfer when he was young. Somehow they were related but
chose not to give that information. They also said they knew that Richard SFER had
a grown daughter, an RN, in Kansas City. But we could not figure out how to
go about finding her...no first name and no listing in the Kansas City tel bk for SFER.
I'm assuming R. Sfer was a black sheep of the family...thus they did not want to pass any
info along about him. I looked up the name SFER on the Soc Sec death index and found a
Richard Sfer listed in Sedgewick KS who had died in 1990. But at least we have the SSN now
and can send for the SS applic and hope it lists some other info to research.
Strange name....we cannot find much about the spelling.
My brother was named after his dad...Richard Francis Sfer JR.
