GIRARD, Ohio – Marlene A. (Ser) Jacoby, 49, passed away Monday, Sept. 24, 2012, unexpectedly at her residence.
She was born Nov. 1, 1962, in Sharon, Pa., the daughter of Julius Joseph II and Margy Robinson Ser.
She was formerly employed at Colonial Industrial Products in Austintown, Ohio and Dunkin Donuts in Weathersfield Township.
She was a member of the First Christian Church in Girard and a social member of IFH in Girard, where she was a member of the bocce team.
Marlene was a 1980 graduate of Sharon High School. She had also attended Penn State Shenango Valley Campus. At Sharon High School and Penn State, Marlene excelled in basketball and softball. Marlene was an avid Raiders fan.
Surviving is her loving sister, Marcena (Tom) Cimoric of Farrell, Pa.; brothers John (Cheryl) Ser of Sharon and Raymond (Joyce) Ser of Hermitage, Pa. She is also survived by her nephew godson, Thomas J. Cimoric of Gibsonton, Fla.; nephews Nickalis Cimoric of Farrell, Jason Ser (Bobbi) and Raymond Ser Jr., both of Hermitage; nieces Shelly Ser of Sharon and Missy Wheaton of Reynolds, Pa. She leaves several great-nieces and great-nephews.
She was preceded in death by her husband of 15 years, James Jacoby, who passed away in 2009; her father, Julius (Joe) Ser II; and in-laws, Richard and Doris Jacoby.
Funeral services will be held at the Blackstone Funeral Home in Girard on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at 10:30 a.m.
The family will receive relatives and friends on Friday from 4 to 7 p.m. at the funeral home.
Interment will be held at Girard City Cemetery.
