NILES, Ohio – Carmen E. Sena, 91, died at 5:29 p.m. Tuesday, Dec. 17, 2013, at Trumbull Memorial Hospital in Warren, Ohio.
He was born Oct. 20, 1922, in Bagnoli, Italy, the son of Dominic and Carmella Buccino Sena and came to the United States at the age of four settling in Niles, Ohio with his parents.
He was a Niles McKinley High School graduate, employed as a Union plumber, and also worked for Niles City Schools for 10 years, prior to his retirement.
He was a life long member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Parish in Niles and would always be volunteering his time setting up for the church’s annual festival.
He enjoyed vacations with his wife, golfing with his buddies, gardening and was a U.S. Naval Veteran of World War II, having served for three years on The Battleship USS New Jersey.
Carmen, who loved his family and enjoyed lifelong friendships, will be deeply missed by his wife of 65 years, Carmella (Carmel) Prezioso Sena; two sons, Dominic Sena of California and Stephen Sena of Vienna; a daughter, Mary Lou Sipusic of Corland; a brother, Anthony Sena of California, a sister, Rose Capriotti of Niles, Ohio; four grandchildren, Alyson Brown, Nick Sena, Kristen Terlecky, and Stefanie Burcham, and four great-grandchildren, Leo, Everly, Addison, and Jackson.
He is preceded in death by a brother, Dominic Sena Jr.
Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m. Friday at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Church in Niles, OH
Burial will be in Niles City Cemetery where Carmen will be honored for his military service by The Trumbull County American Legion Honor Guard.

NILES - Carmella J. “Carmel” Sena, 90, died Sunday, Nov. 9, 2014, at her residence.
She was born July 31, 1924, in Niles, Ohio, the daughter of Aniello and Lucia Prezioso.
She was a lifetime member of Our Lady of Mount Carmel Parish in Niles, OH
In her later years, she worked part-time for Dr. Williams, Dr. Gillette and Dr. Abdu. She was well-liked by all three and appreciated for her work.
She was an excellent cook.
She enjoyed vacationing with her husband. Those vacations almost always included her beloved sister, Rose Vivolo, and her daughter and son-in-law Steve.
They enjoyed those trips together and had some very good times and memories.
She was the grandmother of four, the great-grandmother of four, but most recently her family consisted of some wonderful caregivers from Shepherd of the Valley, Home Health Care. “You know who you are and what you did and how grateful we were to all of you.
Some of you knew her better than others.
She was Carmella to you. She called you various versions of your names. You were her daily friends. She loved you and so do I. I thank you with all my heart for the laughter, the care, and the funny memories. I hope you too remember and laugh.
To the Niles city nurses who saw both my parents once every week for years, they loved you too. You not only gave a B-12 shot and took their blood pressure, you were thoughtful and kind. I thank you for all those years. You helped above and beyond several times during the last years. You are an asset and a blessing to the city of Niles.”
Her loving husband, Carmen Sena, of 65 years passed away Dec. 17, 2013.
She will be deeply missed by two sons, Dominic Sena and his wife, Chris, of California, and Stephen Sena and his wife, Lee Ann, of Vienna; a daughter, Mary Lou Sipusic and her husband, Steve, of Cortland; four grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Carmen and her sister, Rose Vivolo.
Friends may call from 5 to 7 p.m., Wednesday, at the Joseph Rossi and Sons Funeral Home in Niles, OH.
A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 10 a.m., Thursday, at Our Lady of Mount Carmel Catholic Church in Niles, preceded by a 9:30 a.m. prayer service at the funeral home.
Burial will be at Niles City Cemetery.
