Manuel I. Sena, a resident of Lubbock, Texas, passed away Wednesday, Sept. 11, 2013.

Manuel, was born in Las Vegas and was a lifelong resident of New Mexico, before moving to Lubbock.

He is survived by wife, Jana Benson Sena of Lubbock; his mother, Victoria Otero Sena of Las Vegas; his children, Kenny Sena, Louella Jaramillo, and Santiago Sena; six biological grandchildren; step-children, Les Whitzel, Kevin Whitzel, Dana Delgado, Shonda and Shannone; and nine step-grandchildren. Also surviving him are his siblings, Rose Mary Nyggard, LeRoy Sena, Antonia Montano, Virginia Apodaca, Richard Sena, George Sena, Joseph Sena, Laura Silva and Loretta Sena. Also surviving him are numerous nephews and nieces and many other family and friends.

His father, Jose V. Sena, his brother, Jose Frank, and his hero was his grandfather, Santiago Otero, preceded him in death.

He was a graduate of Las Vegas Robertson High School and served in the United States Air Force as an administrative specialist with the air defense command. He retired after 32 years with Qwest Communications.

Services were held on Tuesday, Sept. 17 at Mountainside Church of Christ in Albuquerque.
