Hi,
My name Kathy. I'm trying to research my Slavic ancestors in Europe. The first Americans I know of are Elizabeth (possibly Elisebeth) Selinger, who married Frank Kallis in Nosalov/Nosadl, Bohemia. Elizabeth's parents may have been named Lena and Anton. She had at least one brother, Wenzel. His address was Nassa del #11--niseno bei melink--Brameu,Bohemia. When Frank and Elizabeth settled in the states they lived in Will County Ill. According to the U.S. Federal Census of 1880 there is a Frank and Elizabeth Kallis in Wilmington, Ill. Frank was b.1826 d. 12/25/1880, Will co. Elizabeth was born 1834/5 d. 1919, Wessington Springs, S. Dakota. Frank was a bartender in Ill. They had an unmarried daughter who had ankle length hair and was a hotel cook in Braidwood, Ill. They had 11 kids altogether. The only ones who currently would have decendants are Elizabeth Nelson, Mary Powell, possibly Frank Kallis Jr. who had a son also named Frank. If any of this sounds remotely familiar please e-mail at
