Update to posted message of September 2002:

Wolfgang (AKA Wolf, John) SEITZ b.1815-1830 in Bavaria and Magdalene (FREDERICK?) SEITZ (AKA Lena, Mary, Margarett SETZ) b. 1826-1827 in Germany were in New York City as early as 1853-1854. Immigrated separately. [A possibility - Magdalene may have arrived with parents (George Frederick) via New Orleans in 1850 and went to Ohio.)] No record yet of Wolfgang's immigration.

Children born in NYC - Barbara c.1854, Maggie c.1856, Anna c.1858, George c.1860, Mary c.1861, John c.1866, Frederick Jacob b. 12 May 1869.(Census Records 1870-1880)

The family lived in the area of 52nd Street and Sixth Avenue until Wolfgang's (John) surmised death 1868-1871. Magdalene is listed as widow of John in NYC Directory c.1872 at 437 W. 52nd Street and several further years through 1890 with above different given names. (Trow's NYC Directories)
