Hello all -

As above, I've come to the thread quite late, but I'd like to share what I know.

My great-grandmother was Mary E. Seibel, 1875-1953. Family documentation states that cousins wrote from Annweiler am Trifels during ww2 and eventually emigrated to the family home here in San Francisco, after the war. Their family ran an inn in Annweiler, called the Schwann, for 500 years. The entire town was leveled by the allies at the end of the war. I visited there about a decade ago.

Mary's siblings were Julia, Frederick W, Philip H, George and Emma. Her parents were Mary Spottiswood Seibel and Philipp of Hanover. My tree shows Mary E and her siblings as having been born in California, while her parents were born in Ireland. That's all possible given that it was cousins who wrote from Annweiler.

I'm still digging into more! I'll watch this forum node for replies.
