FOUNTAIN HILLS, ARIZ. – Allan Segall, 74, passed away unexpectedly on Oct. 3, at his home in Fountain Hills.
He is survived by Pearl (Bloch), his beloved wife of 51 years.
He was the dear brother of Owen; loving father of Nate (Rina), Terri Lipsitz (Michael), Bob (Sara), and Rick (Caryn); devoted grandfather of Jeremy, Gabrielle, Ian, Eli, Ryan, Gillian, Lily and Ethan.
Allan will be remembered for years of extensive community involvement and generosity. He began his career in the beverage industry as owner of a Pepsi-Cola distributorship and a Coca-Cola bottling company in Warren, Ohio. He then became vice president and general manager of R.L. Lipton Distributing Company.
Allan raised funds for education, athletics and children with special needs. Hecoached little league teams for 20 years. He served as president of the Howland Athletic Club, president of the Howland Township School Board, president of the Kent State University Trumbull Campus Advisory Board.
He was a member of the Howland Township Board of Zoning Appeals, board member of Children’s Rehabilitation Center and the Beth Israel Temple. He was also a member of the Order of the Elks and Masons Lodge.
Allan was a car buff who loved golf, English bulldogs, gardening and playing with his nine grandchildren.
Burial will take place on Oct. 6, 2010 in Phoenix.
A memorial service in Warren, Ohio will be held at a future date.
