I am trying to run down my
Seaman ancestors (I know my Great Grandmother was Caroline Margaret
Seaman, her father was
Elijah, and Hew had a son named William Henry. All of them were from Canarsie in the early 1800s. It may be a complete coincidence (the two William Henrys but my WH was born about 1842, so perhaps he was your WH's father/uncle?

Information on Mary Elizabeth's marriage to Ben, and the birth of their children was extracted from Flatlands Birth Registry Index. The registry only covers from 1881 - 1892, and there are indications in the record that they had at least 9 children. But no information is listed on the other six.
