Hi -- just found your post, years later...not sure if you will see this. But -- have you run across the collection of photos taken by Alice Lisle in 1916, of the Oak Bay Boat House? If not, google Oak Bay Archives, then search the photos section using the term "boat house." Alice took many interesting photos, which were in an album donated to the archives. One of the photos is a group shot, not very distinct, but the caption identified Charles Dudley, his father, his sister and Alice Lisle, his future wife. So, they were both in Victoria in 1916, and engaged perhaps by that time, but not married. Charles apparently managed the Boat House at that time.
I am not a relation at all...my interest is strictly the Oak Bay boat house, which my grandfather managed in the early 1920s and I love the wonderful photos -- including interior shots -- which Alice took, which must reflect much how it looked when my grandfather lived there.
