Cliff--I read with interest you last note on the message board. If I am correct I believe Christopher could be my 5th Great Grandfather. I knew about this book by Otto Seabaugh, but have never been able to find it. In Lorena Eaker's book "German Speaking People West of the Catawba River N.C. 1750-1800" on page 215 she talks about an Elizabeth Newswanger (prob is Nyswonger in german)Lancaster, Pa Orphans Court impowering Elizabeth to sell her husband Ulrick's property after his death. The book states it is believed that Elizabeth later married a Sebach/Seabaugh (I believe this is Christopher)and had sons Jacob and Christian Seabaugh who were in Lincoln Co, NC; however no actual documented proof. She further addes this: Lincoln Co., NC Deed Book 19, page 292, 17 Apr 1799--Joseph Neuswonger sold 97 A. on South Fork of Catawba to brother Jacob Sebach for love and affecton. Joseph is later found joining George F. Bollinger on their trek to MO. In the NC, Lincoln Co Census this is listed a Jacob Sepah and Christian Sepah who I believe are probably brothers and sons of Chistopher Seabaugh/Sebach and Elizabeth. I have a copy of Jacobs 1804 Will where his name is spelled SEBACH with CHRISTIAN SEBACH witnessing the will. I was wondering if you have any data on this possibility or is Otto Seabaugh mentions this connection in his book. Dick
