NEW LEXINGTON: John G. Scrafford, 84, of Columbus, Ohio died at 3:50am on Thursday, April 5, 2012 at Riverside Methodist Hospital, Columbus, Ohio.
Born July 2, 1927 in Huntington, Indiana to the late Howard Everett and Weltha Miller Scrafford.
Mr. Scrafford was a retired vice president of sales for Landmark, having worked there for 35 years, he retired when he was 55 and then be began as a part time sales representative for several other companies and he enjoyed all the different people he met.
Member of the New Lexington Presbyterian Church; belonged to the Masonic Lodge for over 60 years; Eastern Star; B.P.O.E. #509 of New Lexington, Ohio and the Lions Club of Cambridge.
Survived by his wife, Monna Howerth Scrafford of the home; two daughters, Pam (Dave) Harrold and Marty (Steve) Mishler; three grandchildren, Sandy (Joel) Burleigh, John (Melanie) Harrold and Mark (Michelle) Harrold; four great-grandchildren, Lauren, Brittany, Cody and Gabriela; sister, Marylois (Lee) Tupper; six step-children, Kathy (Bob) Kurelic, Tamy (Mike) Sullivan, Tom (Carolyn) Danison, Kurt Danison, Rene Ellis and Molly (Paul) Fieldhouse; step-grandchildren, Andrea (Bill) Lane, Rob (Christina) Kurelic, Jessica (Mark) Hoffman, Ranor (Tim) George, Catherine (Eric) Penrod, Chris (Amy) Danison, Gina Danison, Josh Dakel, Kiara Brockmeyer, Kyle Dakel, Sophie Danison, Jesse Machado, Whitney Machado, Logan Jetter, Lewis Jetter, Hanna Jetter, Camas Fieldhouse, Chloe Fieldhouse and Kit Fieldhouse; step-great-grandchildren, Christian, Owen and Griffin Lane, Rudy and Ollie Kurelic, Luken and Egan Hoffman, Abby and Whitney George, Maddy and Aubrey Penrod, John, Matt, Sarah and Laura Danison, Hunter Brockmeyer and Kaden Machado.
In addition to his parents, preceded in death by his first wife, Margaret Gault Scrafford; brothers, Elmer Joe and Howard Scrafford and a step-daughter, Amy (Paul) Dakel.
Calling hours will be held from 4pm-7pm with Masonic Lodge services at 7pm on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 at the Roberts-Winegardner Funeral Home, 304 Mill Street, New Lexington, Ohio.
Graveside Funeral Service and Burial will be held at 1:00pm on Wednesday, April 11, 2012 at Cedar Hill Cemetery, 275 North Cedar Street, Newark, Ohio. (Licking County)
