Do you have any dates for your Walter Scott? I have a Walter Scott in my family tree b. England circa 1841, his father was Scottish, Andrew Scott, and his mother, Mary, may have been Scottish or English. Andrew Scott was a 'Carrier' by trade, so was frequently between Scotland and England, where his first two children were born, though on the 1841 census for Midlothian, Scotland the family were living back there.I know that in 1867 Walter Scott attended his cousin's wedding in Tonbridge, Kent, England,he was one of 4 witnesses. Whether he was living in England then, I do not know. There were quite a few Walter Scott's, especially in the Midlothian and Borders area of Scotland. Hope this is of some help.
