I have since found that Joseph Schwabe was the son of Bernard and Catherina Schwegmann Schwabe. He had three brothers: Bernard (settled near Carroll, Iowa) & Clem and Herman (I don't know what happened to them).
I have little else beyond that.
Mary Agnes Macke was Joseph's wife.
