I contacted some living relatives in Germany concerning Gen. Schroth, but they disavow any familial connection: whether or not that's an honest response, I cannot say. They may be skeptical about Americans poking into the Nazi past.

I haven't found any online resources tracing Walter Schroth's family or history, so I haven't been able to prove or disprove any connection. It sounds like you have some precious artifacts, though! Isn't it amazing how this kind of research brings strangers together?
