Norberta E. Schneider,
formerly of 210 W. 6th St.,
died Tuesday August 30, 2011
at the Sarah Reed Retirement Center.
She was born in Erie on June 28, 1915
the daughter of the late George W. and Ruth (Kuntz) Schneider.
She had been a long-time employee of the Hammermill Paper Company, retiring in 1985. Norberta was a member of St. Peter Cathedral and was also an avid gardener, who also enjoyed golf, baking, and travelling. Bert was a devoted sister and loving aunt to her niece, nephews, many great-nieces and nephews and will be sadly missed by all her family. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a sister, Dolores Peterson. Bert is survived by a sister, Kathleen Sedelmyer of Erie along with a niece, Ellen Pohl (Tip) of Pittsburgh and nephews; Frank Peterson (Katherine) of Annapolis, Md.; William Peterson (Kathy) of Ft. Worth, Texas; Rob Sedelmyer (Jane) of Palm Coast, Fla., and Jon Sedelmyer (Janet) of Erie. Also surviving are several great-nieces and nephews. There will be no calling hours. The family will receive friends at St. Peter Cathedral, 230 W. 10th St. on Saturday from 10 a.m. until 11 a.m. at which time a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Private burial will be in Trinity Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to St. Peter Cathedral, 230 W.10th St., Erie, PA 16501 or to Emmaus Ministries, 345 E.9th St., Erie, PA 16503.
