YOUNGSTOWN, Ohio - William Edward and Judith Ann Schmidt died together, unexpectedly, with their granddaughter, Corinne, on Monday, March 30, 2015. (House fire)
They were both graduates of Woodrow Wilson High School, “Billy,” class of 1971, and “Judy,” class of 1974, and were married on Oct. 5, 1974.
They are survived by their three children, Lori Ann Schmidt, Lynn Marie Schmidt and William Edward Schmidt Jr.; their granddaughter, Ava Jade Seman; nephews Ryan and Aaron Evans and Eddie Bodema; and nieces Amanda Hauch, Jessica Seydlorsky, Brandy Bodema and Hannah Wormley.
Billy was an avid outdoorsman who enjoyed hunting, fishing, boating and Harley Davidson motorcycles. He was considered the “Grill Master” and loved people.
He was preceded in death by his father, Edward E. Schmidt; and his lifelong friend, Henry Kotsel. He is survived by his sisters, Diane Marie Evans, Connie (Dennis) Glozer, Joanie Bodema and Tammie (Gregg) Wormley; and several great-nieces and great-nephews.
Judy enjoyed making beautiful quilts, walking, completing puzzles and playing games.
She was a very warm and friendly person, who made everyone feel at home when they visited.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Norman and Gertrude Eberle; her brother, Joseph Eberle; and brother-in-law Terry Troy.
She is survived by her sisters, Kathy Stewart and Mary Ann Troy; several nieces; and one nephew.
Funeral services will be held on Saturday at 2 p.m. at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman, OH.
Visitation will follow the services from 3 to 6 p.m. at the funeral home.

She was born in Youngstown on Jan. 31, 2005, and was in the fourth grade at South Range Elementary School.
She attended the Youngstown ASL Congregation of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Campbell.
She was a smart, beautiful child with a soft heart.
She was a night owl and enjoyed playing games, riding four-wheelers and bikes, swimming and playing outside with her friends.
She leaves to cherish her memory, her mother, Lynn Marie Schmidt; her baby sister, Ava Grace Seman; her father, Ethan Robert Gump; her stepmother, Lisa Cappitti; six stepbrothers and stepsisters; her paternal grandmother, Marcia Braden; maternal great-grandmother, Evaline Schmidt
Friends and family can call on Saturday, from 3 to 6 p.m., at the Davis-Becker Funeral Home, 8536 Market St., Boardman.
Funeral services will be Monday at 11 a.m. at the funeral home. Interment will follow at Lake Park Cemetery.
