In the 1891 Canadian Census, listed with Mary Schell and James Hendry and their children, are 3 Schells. Sarah Schell b. abt 1811 in Scotland. This is Sarah Lamont, Mary Schell's mother. There is a Samuel Schell b abt 1846, whose mother was born in Scotland. That is Sarah's son who married Mary Elizabeth Brooks (b 1857) in 1874. I don't have any children listed for them

The mystery guest in this census is Arthur Schell b abt 1872. I have (so far) 9 Arthur Schells in my tree plus another number with the middle name of Arthur. None are born around this date. "Mystery Arthur" lists both parents as born in Ontario but he was born 2 years before Samuel married Mary Elizabeth and she would only have been 15 in 1872 (neither of which rules her out). In the 1891 census with this group Samuel is listed as married. My best guess is that Samuel and Arthur were visiting the Hendry's without Mary Elizabeth when the census taker came around. But to whom does Arthur belong? Did Samuel have another wife before Mary?
