David A. Schaaf, 80, of Erie, passed away peacefully at his residence on Tuesday, November 15, 2011 after a lengthy illness with Parkinson. David was born in Erie on October 20, 1931 the son of the late Arthur P. and Anna Malthaner Schaaf. He was preceded in death by an infant daughter, Jennifer Schaaf. He worked for many years at Tellers Organ Company where he met the love of his life, Liz, whom he married on October 19, 1957. He retired from Organ Supply Co., Inc. in 1944. He also served in the Korean War as a medic stationed at Ft. Riley, Kan.. He enjoyed fishing, camping and vacationing with his family and spending time with his family. He is survived by his wife, Elizabeth "Liz" Tellers Schaaf; a sister, Evelyn Berg (David); two sons, Lawrence D. Schaaf (Kathy) of Erie, and David J. Schaaf (Jeanne) of Plano, Texas; and one daughter, Renee E. Seyboldt (Joe), of Erie. Three grandchildren, Katie Schaaf Evans, and Mary and Colin Schaaf; three great-grandchildren, Ty, Ethan and Amelia Evans. Also survived by sisters-in-law, Margaret Tellers Dupre (Roger) and Rosalie Hodas Tellers. Many nieces and nephews also survive. Friends may call on Thursday at the Francis V. Kloecker Funeral Home, Inc., 2502 Sassafras St., Erie, PA 16502 from 2 p.m. to 4 p.m. and 7 p.m. to 9 p.m., and are invited to a service there on Friday morning at 10:30 a.m. followed by the funeral Mass at St. George Church at 11 a.m. Send condolences to
