Looking for my family in the 1900 census. The parents are Gregorio and Beneditta Scaccio or Scaccia, both from Italy. The childred are Carmine born in Italy, Margaret born in Pa., Antonio born in Pa and Giacinto born in NY. I am having a hard time tracking them down. I think maybe the parents and one son came over around 1890? Any help would be great!! Thanks!

My grandfather was Valentino Scaccio. He came through Ellis Island in the early part of the century, and settled in Bergen County, New Jersey, then later Rockland County, New York. There are a lot of us, just in my extended family! Please let me know if you want more info. I have no idea if my grandfather had siblings in Italy, or any other family. He came from Rome or thereabouts.

My grandmother's maiden name was Scaccia or Scacci. Her name is Adelaide. She and her identical twin, Adeline, were born in Italy on Nov 27, 1914 and came to the U.S. in 1932 (I think) and lived with an "aunt." I don't know if the aunt was a Scaccia or was on her mother's side (I don't know her mother's maiden name). I believe they lived somewhere in the New York area. During my lifetime, Grandma and Grandpa lived in Farmingdale, N.J. It would be great to find out who the aunt was....
