I descend from Angelo and Lottie Sbalchiero. Lottie's maiden name is Pizzullo. Angelo and Lottie were born abt 1896. The Sbalchiero's came from Vicenza, Italy. I believe Angelo's father is Guiseppe Sbalchiero and mother's name is Santa, but I do not know her maiden name. Many of Angelo and Lottie's children and grandchildren and great grand children settled in the Chicago region. Angelo and Lottie had 3 sons. I descend from Peter, my grandfather who passed away in 1993. His wife was Virginia Eckdahl(d. 1993) and they had 4 children. Only 2 of these 4 are still living. Anyone with any information or questions please don't be afraid to ask. It's a rare name.

Hello,
I received a copy of marriage certificate for a Lillian Sbalchiero and husband Louis J Cichon in today's mail from Cook County Clerk's office. Is Lillian any connection to you? The date of marriage is 7 July 1941 and
John Zwierzchowski was the priest and ceremony was at 743 Armour St. Lillian was 16 years old and father had given
consent but his name isn't mentioned. There was a daughter
from this marriage by the name of Geraldine.

Sincerely,
C Dobrzynski

Hi C. Dobrzynski,

This is not in regards to this Post. I noticed that you are researching the name Mroz. So am I. This is one of the harder names to find anything on for me. My Great Grandmother Katherine Machota (nee Mroz)(Born April 12, 1878) and her 2 brothers Peter Mroz and John Mroz came from Piotrowka, Poland.

Any connections?

Thanks,
Paul

I have a Peter Mroz in Chicago, married Maria Ostrowski
Aug 1903 in Chicago, possibly died in Nov 1914. I have a
copy of the death certificate for Maria/Mary Mroz but her
son Joseph who was the informant basically had no information on his mother. Didn't know her date of birth,
nor the names of her parents. Sorry for the delay.
Their daughter Anna Mroz married Joseph Lyp, son of Frank Lyp and Agnes Zawol in Chicago. Did your Mroz settle in Chicago?

Yes my Great Grandmother Katherine and her brother John settled in Hammond Indiana, just south of Chicago. The other brother Peter settled in Chicago. But your Peter is a different one. Mine was married to Weronika nee Glowacka. Peter died on June 4, 1944. I sure wish we could have made a connection. But the Mroz name is pretty common, almost like a Polish Smith or Jones. Thanks for sending me a reply. Wish you all the best.

Hi Grace633. Your post was in 2006 and its 2014 so I'm a little late. But I do know a great deal about the Sbalchiero family if you're still interested. Pete, your grandfather, was my guardian angel. I grew up with his brother George. Also a protector. And Joe was a great guy. If you have any questions, just ask.
