I don't know if it is any help to you but I have just started researching my family. The family research is regarding the surname Schwaebsch. Back in the 1700's a Christian Schwaebsch married a girl with the surname Sawades. They had a child called August Frederick (Freidrich) Carl Schwaebsch in Prussia, Germany born 1796 died 1866. some of the family migrated to Australia in the mid 1800's. At the start of WWII some of this family changed their name to Swebbs in order to avoid internment.
