Otis P. Sanders is my 3rd great grandfather through his son Charles Noble Sanders. There are many people who have his birth listed as October 22, 1810 in New Port, Herkimer, NY and I have NOT been able to even come close to being able to locate any record that says this. I'm asking how did anyone even find this? Also, those who have his birth with the exact date and place but yet no one even has a first name of either parent. How can this be?

The ONLY piece of information I have documented comes from Charles Noble's death certificate and it only lists his father as Otis Sanders born in NY.

The 2nd bit of information I'm trying to verify is this marriage to a Nancy in 1853 (no one knows the date or place). His first wife and the mother of his 10 children, Thankful Clarissa Martin died March 31, 1852. (I have documentation of their marriage) There are many Otis Sanders from New York so how do I know this is the correct one? In my family tree many of the Sanders males have the middle name of Parlin so how come everyone (with no evidence that I've been able to find yet....seems to think Otis Paul Sanders is the same one who married Thankful and then Nancy. He had several other children with this Nancy and died on August 10, 1903.

I have found the marriage record for Otis and Thankful but nothing for him and Nancy.

I'm not trying to be negative I'm just trying to figure this out. I don't believe what people type unless I can find something to back up the facts and I'm just not finding them. Can anyone help me out?
