Elmer Sanders - MO/IA/??? family

Wondering if anyone has any clues on the decedents of Elmer and Lillian (Krause) Sanders.

Elmer was born 11/4/1900, most likely in Miami, Saline Co., MO but grew up in Henry Co., MO both about 90mi west of KC.

Elmer was the son of George Bryan and Martha "Mattie" (Richardson) Sanders, George born in 1864 in Adair, KY and Mattie born in 1871 in Carroll Co. MO. Elmer was number 7 of 12 children.

Lillian was born in 1903 in Iowa to August and Emma (Dettman) Krause. Both parents were born in Germany 1876 and 1880 respectively and arriving to the US in the 1880's.

Elmer left home and move to Plymouth, IA by 1920 and married Lillian around 1923.

In the 1925 Iowa census they are listed in Plymouth, Iowa and with two children, daughter Marjorie born around 1923 and son Ray M Sanders born in around Aug 1924. They were living either with or next to Lillian's parents and siblings.

Elmer and Lillian are missing in the 1930 census but the two children are found in Plymouth, IA with grandparents (although ancestry has the last names messed up (Crovosey and Sounders)

Any help on this branch would be appreciated.

Thanks,

Jon Sanders

An update on this research. I found the following obit for Lillian's mother which implies that Lillian remarried. It was hard to read but the new last name looked like Byrins but it could be some other variation. This might imply that Elmer had passed on but it would still be nice to hear what happen to Elmer, Lillian, and the two children.

Another update on my research. Lillie married Louis Beyerink (vs Byrins) who is the son of Albert and Mary/Maria Walz Beyerink. Leveraging this data I have confirmed the following:

Lillian Krause Sanders Beyerink
b. 6/16/1902 Iowa (Plymouth Co)
d. 3/1967 Lennox, Lincoln, South Dakota,
b. Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA

Louis Beyerink
b. 4/6/1902 Iowa (Carroll Co)
d. 1/16/1978 North Sioux City, Union, South Dakota
b. Graceland Park Cemetery, Sioux City, IA
m. Bef 1957

Still looking for:

1) marriage date of this second marriage for Lillian and Louis
2) did Lillian and Louis have children? and status
3) death date of Elmer Sanders (first husband)
4) status of Elmer and Lillian's kids (Marjorie, Ray)
5) obits for Lillian, Elmer, Louis, children

Any inputs would be appreciated.

Some more updates on this research.

1) marriage date of this second marriage for Lillian and Louis

After 1945 as Lillian and Elmer are rumored to have gotten divored in the mid-late 40's.

2) did Lillian and Louis have children? and status

Unlikley as she would have been nearing 50 when she remarried.

3) death date of Elmer Sanders (first husband)

Looks likely to be 5/28/1960 in Oakland, CA The family apparantly moved out there sometime after their daughter's death and prior to 1945.

4) status of Elmer and Lillian's kids (Marjorie, Ray)

Recieved death notice for Marjorie who died in a car accident at age 13 (abt 1937)

Have also gotten a picture of son who looks to be about 20 and maybe in the Navy based on outfit.

5) obits for Lillian, Elmer, Louis, children

Nothing so far

Probably the final update from me on this.

1) marriage date of this second marriage for Lillian and Louis

Lillie's father's obit put her in Oakland, CA in 1950 so divorce would have been between 1950-1957 based on both of her parents obits but no offical date.

2) did Lillian and Louis have children? and status

Clearly not a probable option.

3) death date of Elmer Sanders (first husband)

Confirmed to be 5/28/1960 in Oakland, CA based on CA
Death Certificate, he is listed as divorced. He was
buried in Mount Calvary Cem, in Oakland

4) status of Elmer and Lillian's kids (Marjorie, Ray)

Marjorie died in a car accident at age 13 (abt 1937)

Raymond moved back to IA probably with mom and ran a barber supply store, he died 12/28/1958 after being hit by a car. He is buried in Randolph, Neb cemetery.

5) obits for Lillian, Elmer, Louis, children

No obits but news articles of the children's accidents and a death certificate for Elmer Earl Sanders

Feel free to add any missing details you find.
