I found a Thomas Sanders on the 1835 Cherokee Indian census. Could this be the same as the Thomas B. Sanders?
I'm looking for the parents of Joe Berry Sanders that was born in 1830. All I have on his birth is Cherokee Indian Nation, Tn.
Does any of this sound familar? Thanks for any help.
Lynn

Thanks for your query...I know all about the old brick wall, as I'm up against it, too. I have not seen the names you gave in my Sanders research. However, where ever your research hits the brick wall, (state, county), I would suggest looking for a person who does lookups for free in that county. Also read all the postings on various genealogy sites for the states/counties you know your ancestors have been in. The Mormon Church Family History Centers, and almost every church has one, are great sources of materials and free help. Check it out. Best of luck in your research. annette

Do you have a decendent Thomas Jefferson Sanders from MO that would have died within the last 6 years at about 80+ years old?

Not that I know of. However, there is one cousin of my father's who was estranged from the family after a divorce many years ago.. Do you have this Thomas's place of birth or name of parents? Meanwhile I will try to find out. There are so few of that generation still around!

I would appreciate any help. My mother's biological father was not a great guy from what her half siblings told her and had apparently was married 6 times so it wouldn't surprise me if he was estranged from the rest of his family. But.. it's all history! Would love to hear from you again. Thanks.

Janet,

I am happy to tell you that you have made a connection for your sister-in-law with me on Thomas M. Sanders and William Joshua Sanders. Yes, Thomas was the former Sherriff of Marietta which is Cobb County Georgia. William Joshua Sanders was born in the late 1800's. He married Maggie Jane Smith in 1906. William and Jane had eight children that we can confirm. We have a great deal of information on this line of the family.

Please contact me by email at bahappyhoney@aol.com to discuss and we can see if we can help each other.

Good hunting!
Charlene
