My great grandmother Emilia was married to Adrian de la Torre in Mapimi Durango, Mexico in 1883. I can't find a birth/christening record for her.
I know that her father was given a rancho near Monterrey, MEX by Benito Juarez for service during the revolution. I don't know her father's first name or birthplace. I know nothing about her mother. I know she had siblings; at least one sister lived near LA during the 1930-1940s.
My father (Edward DeLaTorre) remembers going with her on the train from Sacramento to LA to visit her sister or sisters.
She had at least 4 children: Julia, Adolfo, Adrian and Armando.
She was widowed around 1908. She moved to Sacramento, CA with her daughter Julia and her American husband (last name Young). At least 2 sons (Adrian and Armando) came with them. She worked as a janitor in state government offices. She died in Sacramento sometime after WWII.
Does this sound familiar to anyone?? Thanks!
