Hi Adam
Got your post via the Ancestry board. I have no Emily's in the SALTER family so far. This is what I have on my English SALTER family:
PETER SALTER (born in c.1800) married ANN WARD on 23 March 1829 in St Olave, London. They are known to have had at least 6 children:
ANN ELIZA and JANE ELIZABETH - may have been twins
PETER CHARLES baptised 13 April 1834, at St Matthew's, Bethnal Green, London.
ELIZA MARY ANN (who married JOHN LE BEAU)
ELIZABETH
ALICE MARGARET
PETER SALTER is listed as a packing case maker and is known to have died on 22 April 1887, in the French Hospital, London. His wife had died some time previously.
His son, PETER CHARLES SALTER married ELIZABETH MARSDEN on 25 December 1869 at St Matthew's, Bethnal Green, London. PETER CHARLES was a labourer and ELIZABETH MARSDEN was the daughter of a cotton merchant, WILLIAM MARSDEN. PETER CHARLES and ELIZABETH had a son, PETER CHARLES (junior) who was born on 22 June 1873 in Mile End, London. He was baptised at St Peter's, Stepney, London.
ELIZABETH died on 13 March 1880.
PETER CHARLES' death certificate has him as a Tea Taster when he died on 14 January 1889.
PETER CHARLES (junior), an engine fitter, married MATILDA SPENCER on 7 September 1895 in Merton Parish Church. MATILDA's father was WILLIAM SPENCER, a labourer.
PETER CHARLES (junior) and MATILDA had several children, one of whom was my grandfather, MARSHALL ALEXANDER SPENCER SALTER, born in Camden Town on 14 September 1897.
MARSHALL ALEXANDER SPENCER SALTER married ENA MAY WILTON (born 27 July 1907) in April 1931 in St Mary's, Southampton.
ENA MAY WILTON's parents were HENRY GEORGE AARON WILTON who worked on the railways and SARAH ANN BIGNELL. (They had married in 1899.)
MARSHALL ALEXANDER SPENCER SALTER and ENA MAY had 3 children: PETER HENRY CHARLES and his brother DAVID and sister ANN.
Sorry I could not be of more assistance
All the best
