Marie L. Saam, 96, of Foxton Lake, Susquehanna, Pa., passed away at home on Thursday, August 10, 2006. She was born in Lanesboro, Pa., the daughter of the late Leo and Lina (Patrick) Braungard. Marie is predeceased by her husband, Albert Marion Saam; brother, Carl Braungard; sister, Alice Pethick; two sons-in-law, Raymond C. Corse and David A. Barton. She is survived by one daughter, Jean M. (Corse) Barton; two grandsons, Raymond H. Corse; Alan J. and Alice Corse; two granddaughters, Carol and Ray Rockwell; Marion and Bruce Seamans; ten great-grandchildren, David and Amber Rockwell, Tara and Dale Rhone, Brenda and Scott Halesky, Marie Corse, Meagan Corse, Bailey Corse, Bradley Seamans, Rebecca Seamans, Judy Corse, Kelly Fletcher; six great-great-grandchildren, Kaitlyn Halesky, Murah Rhone, Olivia Rockwell, Morgan Rhone, Paige Halesky, Victoria Jones; several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was a member of the St. Martin of Tours Church in Jackson, Pa., American Legion Auxiliary Post #86 of Susquehanna, and Lanesboro Catholic Club. Everyone who knew "Nana" loved her. She enjoyed crocheting, bingo, RVing in the winters and playing cards. She loved her life of 96 years and was strong in her faith. Nana was a loving wife, mother and grandmother and will be deeply missed by her family and many friends.
The funeral service will be held on Monday, August 14th, at 9:30 a.m. at the Henessesy's Funeral Home, 208 Jackson Ave., Susquehanna, and 10 a.m. at the St. John's Church in Susquehanna, where a Mass of Christian Burial will be offered by the Rev. Robert Simmon and Rev. Kenneth Seegar. Burial will be in the St. John's Cemetery in Susquehanna, Pa. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 p.m.
