My great grandparents, Chaim (Hyman) and Sora Ryfka (Grinberg) Rzepkowicz came to the U.S. and their name was changed to Rosen. They settled in Chicago. They had six children; Eva,Molly,Margaret,Sophie,Dubby and Moty. I don't know if my greatgrandfather had any brothers or sisters.

Dear Susan,
I was surprised to see your note regarding the Rzepkowicz family of Chicago. I believe my family is the only one that still retains this name. Considering how many Polish Jews are in Chicage, I always wondered if some family many not have settled there.

My family come from the Lodz area. They had previously lived in a nearby town, Brzesiny. I have direct family in the U.S. and Israel. In the course of geneological searches, I have come across another group originating from Sosnowiec. They seem to be primarily located out west. My parents told me others from Ozorkow from before the War.

I am now living in Toronto, Ontario, Canada. My e-mail address is rzepk@yahoo.com . Please contact me. I would be interested to see if there is a true family connection. Is your family Levitical? Where did your great grandparents come from in Poland? When did they come to the U.S.? How did they get to Chicago?

I look forward to hearing from you soon.

Sincerely,

Abraham Rzepkowicz
